Okay, so maybe not. It’s going to take a lot more than a ferocious heavy-metal album to unify humankind in their current moment of crisis.
But the message from the up-and-coming heavy metal band Helestios is inciting listeners with the power and fury we need to inspire ourselves.
The 8 track album is filled with stunningly relentless guitar work accompanied by classic, dark, heavy metal style vocals. Your Pain Tastes Good is a reminder of how metal stays true to itself and its fans.
The new album is released on 18th December – lead tracks Return to Baalbek, Sacrifice and Downgraded World are all out now.
Combining a rough melodic approach with the ferocity and appeal of bands such as Metallica and Sepultura, Helestios reflect on a year which has seen world-wide hardship, conflict and division.
A somewhat surprising feeling you get from this album is one of positive thinking and using your own initiative. Helestios remind us there is still a lot of innovative-good going on in the world.
There’s enough exciting stuff going on right now in various scientific fields from uncovering very unusual facts about ancient history to modern genetics and with our new understanding we should re-apply and re-view many things that we believe are cornerstones.

What’s more, the album shares songs that access the darkest parts of humankind. The song Sacrifice reflects human’s inability to avoid killing each other.
Other album track All Attack is a song through which malevolent guitar riffs support pay tribute to the Belorussian people who have spent recent months fighting to overthrow what many see as one of the last tyrannic governing powers of Europe.
We live in an era when individual human rights are noticeably reduced. We’re looking to stand together with everyone, brothers and sisters and friends through metal – stand together for what is right!

Band members Henrijs Leja (vocals/guitar), Stelios Aggelis (lead guitar), Ian den Boer (drums) and Agnis Aldiņš (bass) hail from Latvia, Greece and the Netherlands.
Now based around Basingstoke, England, their sound takes on board both traditional metal riffing and melodic structure. The distorted sound of the electric guitar create aggressive and atmospheric tones, especially when coupled with Agnis’ throat singing introduction to Sacrifice.
Henrijs also recorded the Lebanese prayer introduction in Return to Baalbek in 2019 as mass protests against the government raged around him in the Lebanese city.
