Another lockdown commences. We’re all sat in our houses wondering what we can entertain ourselves with this time around. Will it be making more banana bread? Binge watching another series? Personally, I’m currently doing a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle of kittens.
But Welsh singer-songwriter James Fox is here with a cheery, upbeat, brand new single to give us hope for the future of 2021. The track is aptly named ‘The Rest of Our Lives’, and is due to be released on 29th January.

The artist’s new single offers hope to others, and is a testament to battling to get through his own personal struggles. Fox has “rediscovered music again and started writing songs for the first time in years” after a gambling addiction threatened to consume him.
Following the success of his single ‘Fire & Coal’ last year, Mr. Fox returns with another self-penned track taken from his forthcoming album All The Fours.

James has already had hits in the Top 20 UK singles chart twice. First, with the heartfelt ‘Hold On To Our Love’ and the track ‘Bluebirds Flying High’, dedicated to Cardiff City Football Club.
Mr Fox has also worked with national treasure and star lyricist, Sir Tim Rice, in an illustrious career that has seen the singer represent the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 as well as support well-known artists such as Tina Turner and Claire Teal.
His success doesn’t stop there. He’s starred in four West End and Broadway lead debuts, portraying himself in the acclaimed roles of Paul McCartney in Let it Be and Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar.
Alongside this ever-growing list of achievements, Fox also dons a Civilian Service Medal for his work entertaining the Armed Forces in Afghanistan and around the World; not forgetting he’s also got three performances under his belt entertaining for Her Majesty The Queen.
So after a tour of James’ other musical achievements, let’s go back to his new release with important dates for your diaries. The Rest of Our Lives will be available digitally for download and streaming from January 29, 2021.
His new album All The Fours contains 12 tracks all written, performed and produced by James and will be available worldwide on February 5, 2021.
After an exclusive listen to the upcoming single, the artists’ Rock, Country, Blues and Folk influences are apparent in the guitar-driven melody of the song. We can expect to see this musical style resonate in the rest of the album.
The album itself was produced by James in his home studio in London during the Summer and Autumn of 2020. James’ musical talents shine through as he plays every instrument on the album (apart from the drums which were played by long-time friend Mike Sorrentino in Long Island NYC).
On the writing and recording of the album, James said,
“The songs needed to come out, it felt like it was writing itself from time to time. I started getting very reflective and sifting through my past for the first time. It was therapeutic in many ways but also exhausting, upsetting and difficult. I have been as honest as I can possibly be with the lyrics on this album and have talked about everything from my issues with gambling, loss of family, friends, the music business, my own demons and fears, right though to hope, finding new and real love and happiness and everything that was in between. My career has been very diverse and I’ve been lucky to have had many amazing opportunities and experiences”
