Grammy award winning singer Emeli Sandé is back with a bang! The iconic artist has just released her latest single ‘Roots’, and it’s a game changer. Known for her soulful vocals and powerful lyrics, Emeli has once again proven that she is a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.
This time, Emeli takes full control of not only her career, but also her message. Through ‘Roots’, she highlights the importance of female empowerment and takes us on a journey of self-discovery and acceptance. A far cry from her previous chart-topping hits, this single delves deep into themes of legacy, community, and nature, and is bound to strike a chord with a younger, more socially conscious audience. Co-written and produced by Ollie Green, ‘Roots’ is a moving track that looks to the past and present to make sense of the world we live in. With poetic lyrics and a hauntingly beautiful melody, Emeli paints a vivid picture of our roots being buried deep in the earth and connecting us to our ancestors.
It’s a song that will make you want to stop and think, and perhaps even inspire you to do your part in preserving our planet. To top it all off, Emeli will be performing ‘Roots’ with a full choir and orchestra for Belgium’s Night of the Proms, before making her way to Germany for the sustainability awards. But the highlight of her upcoming schedule has to be her special performance at the Vatican, where she will be singing for the Pope himself at his Christmas concert in aid of Palestinian and Ukrainian victims of war. Talk about making a difference through music! But it’s not just about her powerful message and soulful music, it’s also about her roots.
The Scottish singer, who grew up in Alford, Aberdeenshire, has decided to move her studio back to her hometown where her musical journey began. With her first piano as the centerpiece of the studio, she plans to reconnect with her roots and create her upcoming album in the place that shaped her into the artist she is today. Emeli Sandé is a true inspiration, and ‘Roots’ is a testament to her talent and determination. This single marks a new chapter in her career and we can’t wait to see what she has in store for us in the future. Make sure to check out ‘Roots’ on all major music platforms, and don’t forget to follow Emeli on her journey as she reintroduces herself to the world.
