Now their newest single “Mother” is the perfect, but mournful example of the bands ability to really tap into the inner feelings of listeners, engaging them both emotionally and creatively.
The single is accompanied by an equally moving music video. The passing of your mother is one of the most difficult grievances to deal with in life, and this song is dedicated to remembering the bands’ late mother, Lolita.
The song explores both love and bereavement in their most relatable forms. It’s delicate, and slow build in depth. The lyrics follow a simplistic narrative of the innate relationship between a mother and child.
The emotional prominence is not overshadowed by the true nostalgic feeling and the yearning to see their mother again.
This song is directly honouring the memory of our late mom, Lolita. It was written two months after her passing. The first few play throughs of the song were extremely difficult, but the process helped us cope with our loss. Our mom was a very gentle and courageous person with a perpetual air of elegance. We tried to capture this with in the arrangement; the quiet, understated introduction and the aggressive conclusion accented with acoustic violins.

The single “Mother” comes from their new album “Hello People”, released on 19th May. Their musical influences range from Duran Duran, Oasis and The Killers, it’s no surprise the band create such a buzz through their music.
