Scottish punk rock legend, Alan Mair, from the band The Only Ones has returned with a brand new solo single ‘Eyes to the Sky’.
The Only Ones are most recognised for their 1978 track ‘Another Girl, Another Planet’.
But now Alan is flying solo; writing, singing and producing ‘Eyes to the Sky’, the bassist proves his rock and roll days are far from over.
The song is available on Spotify and iTunes from the 6th August.
Having been supported by the likes of huge names such as U2 and Simple Minds and supporting The Who, the White Stripes and Primal Scream, it’s obvious Alan Mair is a rock force to be reckoned with.
After years of playing live music at festivals such as o2 Wireless and even Glastonbury as well as countless concerts, his accumulation of live and studio skills is clear on this release.
The song hones a classic rock theme, Alan combines a driving bass with soaring guitars, courtesy of Zal Cleminson, best known for The Sensational Alex Harvey Band in the 70s.
Alan’s involvement with Scottish band The Beatstalkers was instrumental to their ascension as Scotland’s first ever pop stars. Lucky for us, Alan is back and better than ever releasing his own music.
