Brighton based band Lime Garden (previously known as Lime) have released their fourth single ‘Pulp’, and it’s fair to say it is a bop. The band continue to go from strength to strength, catching the ears of Annie Mac and taking their place on the stages of Latitude Festival and The Great Escape. The track recently being dubbed as ‘some good shit’ by notorious music reviewer Anthony Fantano.
‘Pulp’ released through So Young Records this July has the quirk and maturity to make this a timeless track, with the perfect amount of fun. Headed by brilliant lyricist Chloe Howard, lyrics such as “Simon knows it’s been a long time coming, don’t stop keep running‘ remain ambiguous yet politically loaded, with Howard holding their own on rhythmic guitar, continuing to add flair to the bands performances both in and away from the studio.
Grounded throughout by the rhythmic bass heavy sounds of Tippi Morgan, locked in with drummer Annabel Whittle who understands groove with finesse, underlying themes of Funk and Punk influence pokes it’s head around the corner. This track is anything but monotonous, the seamless yet abrupt transitions cleverly placed. With flourishes topping and cementing, guitarist Leila Deeley is bringing a new kind of experimental lead that’s exciting and refreshing to hear. In combination ‘Pulp’ is not only a car ride favourite, but in it’s own right is no doubt becoming a dance floor go to.
Combining everything we love about the underground scene, Lime Garden top ‘Pulp’ off with impeccable spy inspired visuals, tied in with the tongue and cheek, the video deserves its’ own feature length film.
